High School

Welcome from the Headteacher

A very warm welcome to our website which is useful for sharing information with our young people, parents and carers, teachers and any others who are interested in our school.

Looking through this website we hope that you will gain a sense of the vibrant school atmosphere we all enjoy. Our mission is to develop well educated, confident and thoughtful individuals who are well equipped for the modern world, whatever, whoever or wherever they want to be.

Since it opened in 1973 our school has built up an enviable reputation of a place of learning and excellence. We are always committed to raising standards of achievement and ensure success is in place for all by training, developing and inspiring our young people to aim high and fulfil their full potential in a range of traditional, contemporary and meaningful skills.

Everyone who is part of our school quickly come to appreciate the genuine opportunities that belonging to a large school can bring. Our curriculum and extra activities beyond the classroom open doors to new areas of interest, builds on existing skills and allows each young person the opportunity to develop. Young people and staff work in a purposeful, friendly atmosphere where the breadth of academic subjects and activities, the strong focus on skills development, as well as many other elements of Curriculum for Excellence, come together to ensure there is something for everyone.

Our young people and parents value the professional support given to enable everyone to strive for success, recognising their potential and frequently surprising themselves! Appreciating the stresses and pressures of modern life, we also have an excellent team of specialised support staff who provide tireless care in dealing with the individual needs of our young people, whatever they may be.

From our first to sixth year there is something for everyone where we give everyone the ability to think for themselves, expand their horizons and deal successfully with the changes and challenges which lie ahead. When young people move on from our school, they will have had an education which has offered many chances to explore widely, pursue real depth and excel in their chosen specialist areas.

Thank you for reading this and visiting our website, I do hope you find it interesting and have managed to find out what you were looking for or more about the school. Should you have any comments or suggestions for how we might improve this website, information you would like added, or even further advice, please do contact us at any time. We really do value your support and are always happy to help where we can.

Many thanks for your time
